Classes and Programs

55+ Fitness Class
Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays, 8:15 am (No classes in March)
$5 per session (discount packages available)
Exercise classes for the active Baby Boomers! You can improve your aerobic power, lower body endurance, strength, flexibility and balance. It's a fitness class that feels like a party!

Mondays at 6:30 pm; $7 pre-register, $10 drop in
Get fit in this Latin inspired dance fitness class. No experience necessary. A discount punch card is available at class. Register in class.

Senior Tai Chi
Mondays, $48 for 6 sessions
Instructor Ron Erdman-Luntz has been teaching seniors Tai Chi for over 25 years. Studies show that Tai Chi enhances the quality of life for seniors by improving balance, gracing us greater ease of movement and range of motion, and reducing stress. Give it a try! Every Tuesday, 1 pm, No registration necessary

Georgia Kandiko Offers Two-Day Watercolor Workshops

Wild or Tame-Create Animal Portraits
July 16 & 17;
Thurs. and Friday 9:30 am – 3:30 pm

Bring photographs of your pet or use provided images of wild animals to create a unique watercolor animal portrait or portrait montage. Transfer techniques, design elements, underpainting preparation, and finishing details will be covered.

Fast and Fun Portrait Workshop
July 23 &24;
Thurs. and Friday 9:30 am – 3:30 pm

Using quick, fun, and effective exercises Georgia will guide participants in mastering facial proportions, value studies, feature analysis, and getting a likeness. Bring 4 x 6 photo references.

Luscious Landscapes
July 30 & 31

Working Wet into Wet we will explore fun colorful ways to create unique and beautiful landscapes.

AAA Driver Improvement Refresher Course

Friday, March 13, 9am-1pm

Senior Partners Memberships

Those 55 and over may support community programming and the community center with a membership to Southshore Senior Partners. Membership options: $25 for single $40 for dual. Any age may offer support with advanced giving levels: $50 supporting level; $100 sustaining member. Members get a newsletter, reduced price lunches, discounts on some classes and trips. No required reading!  Bring a list of the books you have read recently and be prepared to let the group know a bit about the book and why you liked it, or maybe didn't like it. This is a great way to find out what others are reading and you might just find your next great read.
