Classes and Programs

55+ Fitness Class

Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays, 8:15 am
$5 per session (discount packages available)
Exercise classes for the active Baby Boomers! You can improve your aerobic power, lower body endurance, strength, flexibility and balance. It's a fitness class that feels like a party!

Pickle Ball Clinic

September 1 & 26, october 10 & 24, 10-11 am
Badger Park Tennis Courts, 5745 Country Club Road (next to city hall)

Learn how to play this fun game, or brush up on your skills! Equipment provided. Please RSVP so we have enough paddles, 952.474.7635.

Senior Tai Chi

Mondays, $48 for 6 sessions
New session begins September 12.
Instructor Ron Erdman-Luntz has been teaching seniors Tai Chi for over 25 years. Studies show that Tai Chi enhances the quality of life for seniors by improving balance, gracing us greater ease of movement and range of motion, and reducing stress. Give it a try! Zumba

Wednesdays, October 12-November 23, 6:30-7:30 pm, $56 for 7 week session (drop-ins welcome)
If you love dancing and having fun, you will love ZUmba! OUr certified Zumba instructor will show you the dances step by step and offer low or high impact modifications to make your workout your own! Minimum of 5/maximum of 20, so please RSVP your attendance when possible, 952.474.7635.

Yoga 1

Tuesdays, 5:30-6:20pm
November 1st - December 13th
$54 for a 6-Week Session
$12 per Drop-In Class

This beginner's class will restore you with the healing art of yoga. You will learn foundational yoga postures focusing on technique to build strength and improve flexibility. Basic Vinyasa Flow yoga sequences will also be introduced. Ages 18+ are welcome in this class.  Bring a yoga mat. No Class November 8th.

Yoga 2

Tuesdays, 6:30-7:20pm
November 1st - December 13th
$54 for a 6-Week Session
$12 per Drop-In Class

This class is for those with some experience. We will build upon basic yoga postures and introduce new postures. Class time will be split between learning technique and incorporating postures into Vinyasa Yoga sequences. Ages 18+ are welcome in this class.  Bring a yoga mat. No Class November 8th.

Weekly Quilt Group

Every Monday and Wednesday from 9 am-Noon

Beading

Every Tuesday, 1 pm, No registration necessary
Bring beads for group beading if you have experience! Come and learn and use our beads if you have little or no beading experience! This social beading experience is fun and there is plenty of room to spread out and design. For more information contact Linda at 952.475.1430.

Knitting & Crocheting

Tuesdays starting September 6, 10:30 am
All abilities and levels welcome. No sign up needed. FREE!

Happy Feet

Third Mondays by appointment
Enjoy a foot massage & foot care with ‘Happy Feet’! Happy Feet is featured at the Southshore Community Center the third Monday of each month. Call 763-560-5136 for an appointment.

Senior Partners Memberships

Those 55 and over may support community programming and the community center with a membership to Southshore Senior Partners. Membership options: $25 for single $40 for dual. Any age may offer support with advanced giving levels: $50 supporting level; $100 sustaining member. Members get a newsletter, reduced price lunches, discounts on some classes and trips. Author Talk: Alan Tollefson

Tuesday, September 27, 10:30 am
Mr. Tollefson will present on his new book Shaping Our community. this book spans our local history from 1852-2016. Nearly 1200 photos will help you relive the lives of 1300 people that have made this part of the world so exciting!

Oktoberfest

Friday, October 7, 5:30-7:30 pm
All ages festival.

Enjoy brew tastes courtesy of Excelsior Brewing, kids crafts, Polka music by the Dandilions, and delicious German Fare created by Connie Bouchard Catering. This popular event is offered free, but there is a free will offering accepted to help cover food costs. If you can, bring a non-perishable donation for ICA food shelf so we can help ICA celebrate, too!
